LWVGTA - about Meetings

All League meetings are open to all League members and guests. See the Calendar of Events for current meeting schedule.

General Meetings will be held throughout the year for presentation of study programs
or special speakers. The League will reimburse members for reasonable child care
expenses to attend meetings.

Resource Meetings are called by Committee chairs to consider research materials,
studies, ideas and courses of action on particular studies to be presented to
the membership at General Meetings. They also review legislation and action in
program areas and make recommendations to the Board.

Board Meetings are usually held monthly except in June and December for the officers
and directors to supervise the activities and business of the League. Members
are welcome to attend.

The Annual Meeting is held each year between April 15 and June 1 to adopt a local
program for the coming year, elect officers and directors, adopt a budget and
transact such other business as may properly come before it.

The LWVMI holds a two-day State Convention in odd years and presents workshops
periodically. Delegates from local leagues convene to conduct the business of the
state league.

The League of Women Voters of the United States Convention is held in even
years, attended by delegates from around the country. National program for two
years is adopted at the national convention. A shorter Council is held in odd years.
